Kids And Dog Safety
Learn how to prevent dog bites. In order to keep our kids safe we need to be educated in dog behaviour, and know the warning signs. Good Doggy! supports the Doggonesafe Bite Prevention Program, and is a Licensed “Be A Tree” Presenter.

Good Doggy! offers ongoing puppy group socials and classes!
The location will be Omemee, Ontario. Contact us directly for all dates, times, and to book.
Sessions will include nutrition info, leash manners, potty and crate training, teaching basic commands: sit, down, place, leave it, and recall.
The last 2 sessions will be 1 hr each as reality field trip sessions to practice your new skills with your puppy in the public.
Puppies under 20 weeks of age are welcome, with proof of the appropriate vaccines under your veterinarian’s guidance and or the CKC guidelines.

Nadine can really change your life! She possesses everything you would ever want in a professional trainer. She is straightforward, knowledgeable, expert and easy to work with. She has the training ability that only comes with experience and a love of dogs. Although we had the best of intentions... and loved our dog very much, it didn’t take long until he “ruled” our house and us too. Nadine trained our 1 year old Cane Corso, Mateo. Mateo was a board and train client and he was with her for 5 weeks. I cannot express how satisfied we are with her services. He was a handful before going in for his training with Nadine. He would jump on the counter, be agressive towards... strangers, break out of the crate, pull on the leash, whine and cry uncontrollably... things were getting really out of hand. As the owners we allowed him to be the boss and that's a huge mistake when owning a power breed or any breed in general. We see huge improvements with Mateo's behavior around strangers and in the house. He now recognizes us as the pack leaders and that's thanks to Nadine's training. She is very personable and you can tell she has a passion for what she does. If we have any questions we can still contact her and she will quickly get back to us. We would frequently get picture updates and messages from her telling us how he is doing. What I liked personally is that she was very straight up to us about what we needed to change ourselves with Mateo to better his life and set him for success. She also recommended good reading material and training tools. I would recommend her to anyone looking for basic obedience training and serious aggression. Mateo needed work on both aspects and he is now a pleasure to be around!read more

My wife and I purchased an eight week old German Shepherd puppy. Two years later we were still struggling to train the dog. His issues were many. He cased cars, barked constantly, pulling on leash, jumping up on people, chased anything that moved, would not listen, he was a beast. I have to say... that I take full responsibility for his bad behaviors and being a very inexperienced trainer, I knew enough that I needed to get help to deal with this dog. My daughter directed me to Good Doggy. We contacted Nadine and met with her. She was very knowledgeable and interested in helping us to resolve the issues with our dog. We agreed to a 4 week board and train. Nadine basically transformed my dog into a calm, obedient, well behaved dog. I was so impressed with Nadine and her training abilities, she gave us back our dog with a new mindset. He was calm, didn't pull on the leash, he ignored passing cars, stopped jumping up on people and is very obedient with perfect recall. Nadine was in contact with me almost every day during the 4 weeks, with videos and updates on the dogs progress. We were also given a written report with training tips specific to our dog, so we knew what to do and how to do it, to keep our dogs new behavior in tact. After the passing of my 13 year old chocolate lab, Hershey, I brought home a puppy black lab about 8 months later in the summer. I had completely forgotten life with a puppy. I enrolled Goose in Nadine's basic puppy obedience course to get Goose and I started on the right path. I can't say enough... good things about the experience. Nadine is incredibly knowledgeable and patient, answering all of my questions and ones I never realized I had. Goose loved her too! She provided me with a ton of resources and homework to help continue Goose's training in between lessons. I can't recommend Good Doggy enough!read more

Nadine is extremely educated on dog behavior as well as obedience and training. I brought my puppy to her for basic obedience and it really stuck with her. We also brought our other two year old dog to her that had severe reactivity issues and fearfulness and Nadine has helped us to overcome these... issues. Would definitely recommend 🙂read more

We are so happy and pleased with the arrival of our dog, Maverick, after a 3 week board and train with Nadine. Maverick is a much more calm, and confident dog; as such, he listens to us and has minimal reactivity to former triggers. Pre training, Maverick was not able to be around other animals and... walks were a daily struggle. Post training, Maverick is able to be in the same room as our cats, and walks are an enjoyable part of our day. Not only did Good Doggy training transform Maverick, it transformed us to be better owners for him. Throughout our lessons and “homework” we realized how much our actions effect Maverick, and how we can enhance our abilities to better his. Our lives are so much more enjoyable, relaxing and stress-free! Thank you for teaching us ALL to be better!!read more

Nadine was absolutely incredible in handling my Rottweiler and I. She’s was there every step of the way, and continues to be long after my dog has come home. I had an excellent experience with GoodDoggy and the owner. She treated my large breed dog with respect and was not afraid of her unlike some involved with animals. Roxy was an American Bulldog with some anxiety issues and had a hard time making friends. GoodDoggy took her in for several weeks and... introduced us to the E-Collar. Ever since, we have been able to take Roxy to parks, for hikes and play dates knowing she would come when called. She became a calmer, more balanced animal. We received a booklet with instructions post-stay and the owner was available to us and still is for any training questions or needs. She posted videos and shared pictures of our dog during the entire process and was quick to respond to emails. Highly recommend for dogs of any ages, any temperament and any size.read more

GOOD DOGGY IS AMAZING!! Our dog went for the puppy class and we went back for the GD class as well! We have the best trained dog and get compliments all the time about how well behaved she is!! Even after we completed classes, if I had a question, Nadine was more then happy to answer! She really... loves her fury clients!! (and they love her!) I recently purchased an Australian Shepherd puppy and needed some help.. I had seen the amazing results of training Nadine did with a friends German Shepherd a few years before and knew she was definatly the woman to help me. Louis needed to be crate trained but having neighbors below, I... couldn't just let him bark it out. Nadine took Louis for a week and had him easily go to his crate. Aussies are known to be very nippy and she had that completely stop. I continue doing all the things I have been taught but look forward working more with Nadine and Louis in the spring as he gets a little older and faces new challenges.. We have had our dog since he was a little puppy, but due to a family emergency he did not get the proper socialization. I noticed bad behaviour and he was not great with other dogs. I did not know what to do. I contacted Nadine and she was so informative. She has been amazing with with my dog.... Bruno loves to go for social visits. Went to good doggy after months & months of training with all positive trainer & after 7 months had no results not even a little bit. I adopted Andy he was already almost 3yrs old , lunging, biting ankles & no recall at all. I heard about Good Doggy gave Nadine a call meet up with her, I decided to... do a board & train, so glad I did 3 weeks later Andy was home. I brought my dog, Angus, to Good Doggy for training after he bit my son. Prior to training he was the ruler of the house and would snarl at me if I tried to get him off the couch. He was impossible to walk and wouldn’t listen to any commands. After a board and train with Nadine, he returned to my... home a different pet. Nadine provided us humans with a good amount of training to so we knew exactly what to do when Angus came home. Angus is now a joy to be with because he’s part of our family, not the boss, and I can take him for a walk without being dragged around the neighbourhood. We brought our pup to Nadine just after she was one years old. I was nervous at first because we had hired another dog trainer when our pup was a few months old and he came, took payment, moved her crate from one room to another and we never heard back. This was so not the case with Nadine. She was... fast with replying to all my questions before I even booked her. Once we booked her not only did our dogs fall in love but so did we. She is very knowledgeable, this was Important to us as we have a large breed and small kids, so we wanted someone who could handle her. Nadine could explain why our pup was acting the way she was and what we could do to help that behavior. Our pup was just that, still a pup and needed all the basics still. As she gets older she is having some manner issues and Nadine has been amazing in helping us correct that. Now I have an amazing dog, who stays when she is asked, walks nicely beside us off leash and without pulling on leash. I constantly get comments about how well behaved she is, that is all because of Nadine's knowledge. My dogs get soo excited when they see her truck pull up in front of the house. I am so blessed I found her and would recommend her to everyone!!read more

I can’t say enough good things about training with Nadine! Our 9 month old lab has been home for almost 2 months now from board and train with good doggy and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. I would recommend good doggy’s services to anyone and everyone struggling with their dog!

Nadine was recommened to me by the rescue I got my pup from. I spoke to Nadine and we went with the private training sessions. I did not know Nadine before using her services, and we friended each other while my dog lived at her house for training. The two people who referred me had done the same. Riley is a two year old purebred German Shepherd, who wasn't receiving the love and attention required. She lived outside in... a kennel all of the time. Her owners knew it was no life for her and she needed a new home. My husband, with dog and German Shepherd experience, found out about her from a coworker and volunteered for us to take Riley.Riley arrived in the back of a pick up truck on Thanksgiving weekend 2017. She was caged, and barking the entire time as they pulled into our property.We went out to meet them, and I remained quiet and alarmed. I trusted my husband's lead. We could not approach the pick up truck. Riley snarled and growled and lunged at us, dragging her crate with her force.What are we getting ourselves into, I feared to myself.We let the people delivering her bring her out of crate on a leash as we removed ourselves from the situation. They went to the fenced in area of our property and we met them back there after coming out of the house.Riley was not as mean to us now, but we couldn't go near her without folded ears and low growls.We set her crate up on the deck and decided we would let her defuse there after everyone left.My husband was able to uncrate her and take the leash that was left on her and walk her around our property. I came to join, bringing treats, and she was hesitant but receptive. We moved her crate to the inside of the patio door and let her explore the house freely before crating her for the night.I forgot she was there when I got up for a drink during the night and in my grogginess, was growled and snarled at.This behaviour went on for days and improved as the months went by. However, we could not have company. We couldn't walk her in public. We couldn't take her to the groomers and there was no way we could go to dog parks and dog friendly stores.We were referred to Nadine.Riley was initially leaving us for 28 days.It turned into three additional weeks. And no charge for the additional time.Riley was not an easy client and regressed in her first couple of weeks into a crazy mean dog.There were times when I went days without hearing about her, and I trusted that I'm not the experienced trainer, and that I have zero experience of sending a pet away to have any expectations. It is what it is and trust it.Around week 5, we got invited to come meet Riley and see her progress. We approached her at a public space, and she didn't bark. She didn't growl. She didn't even care, she was content walking beautifully on a leash with Nadine. We were blown away. We got to walk her as well before we said goodbye until our next meeting. She walked, she sat, she did everything like a dog who's been doing it from day one.We met again a week later and went for a walk and training lessons with other dogs and people. Wait, what?? Our dog in public with people and animals?! This is too good to be true.We did a pack walk to a park. The dogs took turns walking an obstacle course and following directions. We passed so many people on the sidewalk. We were downtown Bowmanville. Our dog didn't care!! She was a normal dog.Riley came home to us after one final lesson and she is the dog we couldn't make her. We followed Nadine's routines and plans and she has been home for two months now and we have people over. She doesn't bark at the door either! We go to the leash free parks and she is complimented on how smart and obedient and beautiful she is. She is friendly! Her tail wags! She is so smart and happy. And we are so grateful for Nadine finding it and not quitting on her when it got worse before it got better.read more

Nadine's many years of experience are evident in how she presents herself as a trainer and the rapport she is able to develop with dogs. Her manner is calm, and confident and she sets an excellent example to follow. I highly recommend her as a trainer.

Words cannot describe what Nadine has done for our family. Abby became part of our family over two years ago with an abundance of energy and a very strong personality. We were battling constantly with rude behaviour in the house and community, food aggression, dog reactivity and aggression and a... difference in opinion of how to handle her. We also had a young baby in the house and were seriously considering our options as it was a clearly unsafe situation for both our dog and our son.Nadine has literally changed our lives. I cannot possibly re-iterate enough what an impact she has had on our family. We began training with her in December and since then, our dog has done a complete 360. She has learned ‘calm’ in our household. She has a safe place to go to when there is a lot of stimulation around, she stays out of our space during ‘human’ mealtimes and can regulate her excitement when someone comes to the front door. She knows the expectations during walks, is confident and trusts her owners when off-leash and LOVES practicing her drills on a daily basis.Nadine gave us the tools, skills and confidence to be able to support Abby in her training program. She taught us how to read our dogs behaviour and to be very aware of our surroundings. She taught us how to advocate for our dog when we are out in the community (i.e. what to do when an unknown dog approaches in the park) and how to support our dog to make good decisions.Most importantly, Nadine helped our dog love life again (and us too!) She was available whenever we needed questions answered and helped us problem solve any issues we were having. Nadine helped us to train our Brittany pup Chase from a tiny crazy little guy into a well mannered, behaved dog that is a joy.
